Feds Nab Mexican Drug Lord In Hopes Of Toppling Cartel

The leader of one of the most powerful drug cartels in Mexico was caught on Saturday. Mario Ramirez Treviño, who went by X-20, El Pelon or Baldy, is thought to be responsible for multiple kidnappings and bomb attacks against the police. Mexican soldiers captured Ramirez Treviño along with two other members of the Gulf Cartel.

The push is an effort by President Enrique Peña Nieto to continue President Felipe Calderon's fight against the powerful drug lords in Mexico. The 51-year-old was such a valuable asset that the U.S. government offered $5 million for information that would lead to his arrest
