International Space Station's "Serious Leak" May Require Emergency Repairs

Vladimir Solovyov, the director of the Russian segment of the International Space Sation, has called an ammonia leak "very serious." Reportedly, the ammonia is leaking from part of the space station's cooling system, and may require an emergency space walk by the astronauts aboard to be repaired.

The ISS has a permanent staff of six astronauts, under the command of Canadian Chris Hadfield, who's recently developed something of an internet celebrity with his videos about life in space. There have been 6 astronauts aboard the space station since 2009.
