Texas Gov Rick Perry Makes It Extra Legal To Say "Merry Christmas"

On Thursday, Texas Governor and one-time GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry signed into law a bill that's been called "The Merry Christmas" bill... because it's basically all about our God-given right to seasonal greetings.

The bill specifically allows for public school children to be taught about different winter holidays, like Hannukah and Christmas, and to display the decorations traditional to each holiday. And to go verbally offer one another the seaonally appropriate salutation.

The bill came to Perry's desk from State Representative Dwayne Bohac, who was incensed when he learned that his son had to put up a "holiday tree" at school, instead of a Christmas tree. But no more: Perry signed the bill today, surrounded by several Santas.
