Ex-UC Davis officer John Pike, who is known for pepper spraying students during a protest in 2011, received a $38,000 settlement for “psychiatric injuries for the way he was treated afterwards,” The Atlantic reported.  Pike’s payout is more than the individual compensation for students who were pepper sprayed in a settlement with the university. In that deal, students received about $250,000 sum for lawyer fees to split among 21 plaintiffs for $28,000 each.
