The President sat down with PBS News Hour to talk about the intensifying violence in Syria. Obama said that he has not made a decision regarding if or when we'll take military action against Assad, but that there is no dispute that chemical weapons have been used.
Calling Syria a "volatile country in a very volatile region," the President laid out why it's also in America's self-interest to end the chaos and bloodshed in the country.
As he's taken pains to do before, Obama drew distinctions between the action he's considering and the protracted and expensive wars in Iraq, saying that were we to strike, it would be a brief, punitive strike, not a drawn-out invasion.
