The New "The": One Man's Expensive Quest To Make Your Tweets Shorter

Paul Mathis, an Australian restauranteur, has taken on a pet project: creating a symbol for the most common word in the English language: the. By creating a single character symbol for the 3-letter word, he'd hope to save time and characters for tweets and texts.
The symbol, which he wants us to pronounce "thh" (prediction: that part won't catch on), looks like the vertical top of a capital "T" set on the bottom part of a lower-case "h." The idea is that it'd be like the ampersand (&) is for the word "and."
He's reportedly spent about $34,000 on that little shape so far.
