NASA Saw Hurricane Sandy Coming ... Literally
- 06/07/2013 10:40 AM EDT Sci/Tech
A NASA model accurately simulates Hurricane Sandy's destructive path days before it struck the U.S. East Coast. The supercomputer is able to solve complex mathematical equations within sectioned-off pieces of the Earth's atmosphere to predict the hurricane's movement. It can also visualize the growing intensity of the storm as it reached land.
