NASA predicts that concentrations of carbon dioxide could double by 2100, raising the average temperature in the U.S. to 8 degrees Fahrenheit warmer. Another scenario, with lower emissions, would still warm the U.S. up to 4.5 degrees. To visualize these results, the scientists created a computer model to show how the two cases would look over a 30-year period. Either way, the results seem dramatic.
