Hugo Chavez, the controversial president of Venezuela, has died. Here are the three reasons why his death matters to you.
1. Anti-American sentiment could increase. Vice President Nicolas Maduro -- a strong contender to fill Chavez's seat -- is already calling for investigations into a possible assassination.
2. Gas prices. The USA is by far the largest consumer of Venezuelan oil. With their future leadership in question, gas prices stateside could increase.
3. Humanitarian groups are concerned. Some are worried that the power vacuum could create an opening for fascists to gain power.
