Recording the Beatles final album was "hell" and "torture" for John Lennon according to newly uncovered interview tapes. Lennon spoke to Village Voice critic Howard Smith about the tension between the Fab Four in 1969, right after the group finished the acclaimed "Let It Be" album. The audio tapes were found decades later in Smith's loft in NYC.
RR Auction House in New Hampshire will sell the tapes this month in an online auction running September 19 through September 26.
