Hernandez, who was dropped by the New England Patriots after his arrest, was picked up and charged in the murder of Odin Lloyd, a friend and minor league football player. The former tight end was arrested a few days after Lloyd was murdered, on June 17. After appearing in court July 24, his probable cause hearing was delayed until late August.

The body of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, 27, was found in an industrial park on June 17, just a short distance away from the home of Patriots' tight end Aaron Hernandez. According to reports, Hernandez and Lloyd were friends and had been hanging out the day before Lloyd was found. Cops called the death a homicide. Authorities searched Hernandez' house after the killing, leaving with dozens of bags of evidence, and have also scoured the area around his property several times.
Hernandez was arrested and lead from his home in handcuffs in the days after the killing. The delayed probable cause hearing will take place on August 22.
