A battery-powered flying bike was unveiled in a press conference on Wednesday in Prague. The prototype, a collaboration between Duratec and technology firms Technodat and Evektor, is able to fly around the room holding a mannequin when controlled with a remote. The creators hope the invention, nicknamed 'Pilot,' will eventually become an option for a daily commute.
As of now, the battery life only lasts five minutes at a time before needing a re-charge. Technical director of Duratec Bicycles, Milan Duchek, has high hopes for its future.
"Because the capacity of batteries doubles about every 10 years, we can expect that in the future the capacity would be enough for the bike to be used for sports, tourism or similar things," he said.
