Maniac Celebrates Anniversary Of First Everest Climb By Jumping Off It

Almost 60 years to the day after the first person climbed to the top of Mount Everest, Valery Rozov jumped off it. The Russian extreme sports afficianado, 48, spent 4 days ascending the peak from the Chinese side, and then, in the middle of a frigid afternoon (it was 18 C), he jumped. 

It was the world's highest BASE jump, starting at an altitude of more than 23,000 feet. Rozov fell freely for more than a minute before landing safely on a glacier below.
