The EPA announced a plan Friday morning that it will start putting strict limits on greenhouse gas emissions from coal plants, the first national cap of its kind. Obama says the plan will start moving U.S. energy towards a cleaner future by ending “the limitless dumping of carbon pollution” by power plants.
Opponents of the bill say that it will kill the coal industry and hurt the economy. Lawsuits challenging the ruling are expected.
