Renault Unveils Neon Blue LED-Covered Electric Car
- 06/10/2013 09:56 AM EDT Sci/Tech
The French carmaker Renault has designed a trippy new 100% electric car. It was unveiled in Milan at the Salone De Mobile furniture fair, which is a gathering place for anyone trying to associate themselves with design.
This car certainly is vying for design-cred: in addition to the bright blue paint job, the vehicle's most striking feature is its LED 'mood lighting.' The interior is covered with "biometric" inspirec LED lighting that mimics branches and other natural forms -- a favorite motif of its designer, Ross Lovegrove.
The car, called the Twin'Z, doesn't have any revolutionary new technology, but it can go up to 50 m.p.h. on short trips between recharges.
