If you've forgotten your tabloid history, the whole Jon Gosselin affair went like this: Jon was the Jon in "Jon & Kate Plus 8," a TLC reality show about a couple raising 8 children (sextuplets and twins) that kicked off in 2007... Until Jon decided to leave his giant family, when it was renamed "Kate Plus 8."
During his 15 minutes of family-deserting fame, Gosselin sparked a couple affair rumors, partied, and was photographed on yachts -- often with designer Christian Audigier and usually wearing one of Audigier's colorful Ed Hardy t-shirts.
And then we stopped hearing about Gosselin and those t-shirts all together -- which according to Hardy, is Gosselin's fault. The tattoo artist (whose designs Audigier put on shirts) blames Gosselin and his less than laudable antics for 'tanking' the brand.
Hardy told the New York Post:
“That Jon Gosselin thing was the nail in the coffin,” the tattoo artist told the New York Post. “That’s what tanked it. Macy’s used to have a huge window display with Ed Hardy, and it filtered down and that’s why Macy’s dropped the brand.”
In other words, whoever said no publicity is bad publicity never met Jon Gosselin.
