New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, whose weight has been the subject of much chatter, has admitted to having a lap band surgery in mid February. Lap band surgery is a gastric procedure where a belt's inserted around a portion of the stomach with the intent of slowing the amount of food you can eat and thus causing weight loss.
According to the Governor, the surgery is not about a 2016 presidential bid, but because he wanted to stay alive for his kids. Christie, who's 50, has four, the youngest of whom are still in school.
According to reports, he's already lost about 40 pounds since the surgery.
